About 360ism Network

360ism Network

360ism Network is a publication and a working community for photographers, models, filmmakers, and the people who hire them. It is published from Richmond, Virginia, and it is built on a simple idea: the people actually doing the work should be the ones writing about it.

Why this exists

Most creative media falls into one of two piles. There is gear coverage, which is fast, plentiful, and mostly about buying things. And there is inspiration content, which is beautiful and tells you almost nothing about how the work got made or whether anyone got paid. The gap between those two piles is where careers are actually built — the rate you should have quoted, the release you should have signed, the light you should have moved eighteen inches to the left, the client conversation that went badly and why.

360ism Network is built to live in that gap. Every story here is meant to be useful the next time you are on set, in a negotiation, or staring at a shot that is not working.

What is here

The site runs six channels. Photography Education covers craft — light, lenses, direction, retouching, and the decisions behind them. Model Hustle is written for the talent side: rates, safety, agencies, portfolios, and the business of being in front of the camera. Inside 360ism is the open notebook — what we are building, what it cost, and what did not work. Business & Production is contracts, pricing, crew, insurance, and the unglamorous machinery that makes a shoot possible. Publications is where 360ism Magazine lives. Podcast carries the long-form conversations.

Alongside the writing there is a Member Gallery where members post work for a three-star rating and written critique from other members, an Opportunities board for casting calls, workshops, and paid work in the Mid-Atlantic, and Critique Thursday, where images submitted for critique get broken down in long form on the 360ism YouTube channel.

360ism Magazine

360ism Magazine is the editorial spine of this site rather than a separate destination. Stories are developed here, in public, with the community — and the strongest of them are collected, edited, and designed into issues. If you want to be part of that, read Write for 360ism Magazine.

The wider 360ism ecosystem

360ism is a creative production company built around a full studio operation in Richmond. Beyond this publication there is a shooting and rental studio, an education arm, an agency practice, and a publishing operation. The Network is where all of that gets documented and taught, and where the community around it lives.

Standards

Nothing on this site is paid placement disguised as editorial. Sponsored work, when it appears, is labeled as sponsored. Gear links may be affiliate links, which is disclosed on every story that uses them and explained in full on the Affiliate Disclosure page. Corrections are made openly rather than quietly. If something here is wrong, tell us and it gets fixed with a note explaining what changed.

Get in touch

Booking, studio rental, workshops, advertising, story pitches, and press all go through the contact page. Membership is free to start — join the Network to post in the gallery, comment, and get the newsletter.
